Under the BLUEPRINT2010 project, an open talk about Video Art and related practices, hosted by CCI-Creative Macau and mediated by José Drummond, held Saturday, January 16 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at CCI-Creative Macau.
It included 5 artists: Rui Calçada Bastos (Berlin), João Vasco (Hong Kong) and local artists Alice Kok and Pomona de Pedra and José Drummond as a mediator.
With so many new perspectives and exhibitions about Video Art in Macau and all over the world, this talk will be an exciting place to be introduced to the work of the artists involved and to the diverse world of Video Art .
The trouble with trying to get a grip on Video Art is that it’s rather like trying to get a grip on a wet bar of soap in the shower: the more you try to tighten the grip, the more prone the soap is to slip out of your grasp. There is, in other words, something elusive about the very nature of Video Art that seems to resist being summarized in one precise definition. One can even claim that there are as many definitions of Video Art as there are video practices and video artists.
