Vera Paz

Born in Lisbon, in 1973. Graduated in Art History from FLUC. She began her artistic training in classical dance (National Conservatory and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts). In 1991 started her theatrical career, having become a professional in 1997. Since then she has worked with directors Rogério de Carvalho, Jorge Listopad, Augusto Boal, João Brites, Jorge Fraga; Lúcia Sigalho and Carlos Thiré. Actress, playwright and artistic director of d’As Entranhas – Theater Company that she co-founded in 1999 and in which she co-staged and performed (1999 “A Lei de Deus”, 2001 “Divas à Deriva”, 2002 “Corações Solitários”, 2004 “Best Off”, 2006 “Amor de Perdição”, 2007 “Made in Brazil”, 2007 “Das Palavras”, 2008 “Sophia”, 2009 “Glória”, 2011 – “Casa Pública”, 2013 – “Collapse”, “Collapse.1”, 2014 – “SG Gigante” and “Vale de Bonecas”). In cinema, she worked with directors Edgar Pêra, Gideon Nel and João Nuno Pinto. From 2005 to 2014, she was assistant and casting director for advertising in several advertising agencies in Portugal. In 2014, she returned to Macau. From 2015 to 2020, she worked as executive producer at Albergue SCM. In 2017, she founded the Cultural Association d’ As Entranhas Macau, a cultural space of interdisciplinary cultural action that aims to promote the investigation and the transmission of contemporary art and culture. She is the Artistic Director of the project, responsible for the conception, coordination and execution of the following projects: 2024 “Home Sweet Home” Theatre Show (Box II – CCM); 2022 “Canções de Faca e Alguidar” – Musical Show (Fundação Oriente); 2021 “A Boda” – Theater Show, “Projecto D’Homens” – Theater Show (Antigo Tribunal, BlackBox), “Sombras” – Photographic Essay (Fundação Oriente); 2020 “Medeia” – Theater Show (Antigo Tribunal, BlackBox), “I’ll Be Your Mirror” – Transdisciplinary Show (Antigo Tribunal, BlackBox); 2019 “Lost In Translation” – Transdisciplinary Installation (Albergue SCM), “Es.tab.lish.ment” – Pedro Pascoinho Painting Exhibition (Fundação Oriente), “Retrospectiva” – Exhibition of Collages by Burry Buermans (Livraria Portuguesa), “Red Market”, Collective Exhibition (Albergue SCM), “Sophia” – Transdisciplinary Show; 2018 “Vale de Bonecas” – Theater Show (Hotel San Va), “Noivas de São Lázaro” – Photographic Installation (Albergue SCM); 2017 “Das Palavras” – Audiovisual Poetry Show.
