Photography is something that I’ve had an interest in since my father first lent me his old point and shoot in 2014. I found it to be a way to attempt to capture Macau, the city I was born and raised in, and all the things that make it special.

This interest was reinforced further when I joined The Macau Post Daily as a reporter, which allowed me to learn more about taking photos as well as opportunities to photograph not only events, but life in Macau, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I mostly take photos, either in colour or black and white, of things that I find interesting as I go about my day, attempting to look for something regardless of how ordinary something might seem. And though I have no proper training, I love figuring out how things work. I like learning about how certain dials control a camera, the impact of light and shadows on a photograph, what might make for good composition and why there might be a “story” to be found at each click of a shutter, among other things.

Photography has become about constant learning and I aim to learn and photograph as much as I can, and hopefully share it with others.
