Blossom Series: New works of the Blossom Series that explore the definition of beauty in people’s lives through daily nuances of life. The rapid spread of information nowadays bring constant impact on people, from daily living habits to folk traditions, people have a new understanding of beauty. As people’s way of thinking changes with time, there is always a new definition of beauty. Tradition is rooted in people’s lives – how will it be under this influence? There is much food for thought.
Tong Chong studied Painting in Fuzhou Arts and Crafts School in 1990. From 1991to1997, studied Modern Art in the Visual Arts Institute Macao. He graduated from Macao Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Art. Later, he obtained a Master of Arts at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. He has already been participating in over 190 national and international collective exhibitions, and 10 solo exhibitions have been held.
The Pleasure: Different cultural values are prone to misunderstandings and even conflicts due to cognitive differences. The artist created the artworks based on Ye Quan’s “Pilgrimage to Lingnan” – according to the artist, if what is written by Ye Quan described the superficial cognition of the Chinese to the Western customs, then he would like to use this misunderstanding of the West to create his artworks.
Noah Ng Fong Chao was born in 1968, in Zhejiang province of China. He settled in Macao since 1984. He gained his Bachelor Degree of Visual Arts (Oil Painting) from the School of Arts, Macao Polytechnic Institute, as well as a Master of Arts in Modern and Contemporary Artistic Creation and Research from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Noah Ng is now an Exhibition Project Planner at the Macao Museum of Art.
