A documentary about Portuguese architecture and urban landscape looking at nine buildings. A co-production Laranja Azul and Ordem dos Arquitectos for the XXI Congress of the International Union of Architects (UIA) Berlin 2002. Directed by Daniel Blaufuks.
The object of the film “Reversed Landscapes / Paisagens Invertidas” is the urban landscape of Portugal as seen through nine buildings, the idea being the depiction of the resonances of our landscape as the consequence of the “Magnetism” of architecture, and the creation of a synthetic panorama that permits the evocation of the physical environment of Portugal. The film can be understood as a demonstration of the qualities of Portuguese architecture in a dynamic relation with constructed reality: the film constitutes a sort of new geography made up of the suburban sprawl and obsolete areas, where architecture functions as an inversion, that is, as the singular conformation of their spaces and programs, although without any exact rules or ethical code.
Discussions will be organized by members of the Architects Association of Macau (AAM) on Saturdays during the exhibition period, from 14:30 to 18:30. For any interested parties, please contact CCI at 753282 for group bookings.
The exhibition is co-organized by the Architects Association of Macau (AAM) and Ordem dos Arquitectos, and with the support of the Macau Cultural Centre.
