CREATIVE MACAU will appoint our Assistant Project Manager Mr. Jeff Lao to participate the seminars of the 4th CHINA INTERNATIONAL DESIGN & ART FAIR in BEIJING from 11th to 13th July 2009 and to seek for the possible co-operation opportunities in the future.
The “China International Design & Art Fair” is initiated by Tsingha University, host organized by China Building Decoration Association, Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua university and China Industrial Design Association, and operated Tsingda Distance Education Cultural Development Co., Ltd. and Design Committee of China Building Decoration Association. It has been held for 3 times and mainly focused on the fields of art and architecture design in the former years. This year, they intend to upgrade the fair into an international exhibition with approx. 100,000 sq/m for display by covering various design areas including architecture design, lighting design, interior design, hotel design, furniture design, urban planning, industrial design, landscape design and graphic design …etc at Beijing Exhibition Center.

It was a good experience to participate the 4th China International Design & Art Fair from 11 to 13 July 2009 in Beijing. This fair mainly focused on the areas of hotel interior & architecture designs. It offered us an opportunity to know more about the development of mainland China in these particular areas. Their seminars were quite attractive too as they invited some renown architecture designers to be their guest speakers. I was glad to hear the Chief Designer of Water Cube, John Pauline, the famous Italian Hotel Designer Ermanno Caroppi and the designer of the 8 Chinese restaurant at Macau Grand Lisboa, Steve Leung to share their past and current project experiences as well as their design concepts with us. Being the Center for Creative Industries in Macau, I think it is necessary for us to know more about what is happening outside. It definitely helps us to add new ingredients to our new activities. For increasing the public awareness of our members, we are planning to participate the said fair next year. We believe that it is a good chance for us to introduce the excellent design and concept of our members to them in this respect.
