This exhibition mainly showcases the students’ works of the Visual Arts Programme of the Macao Polytechnic University completed in the two modules “Social Artistic Practice” and “Sociology of Art”. The aim of “Social Artistic Practice” and “Sociology of Art”is to guide students to apply their artistic abilitites (Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics etc.) to the social topics. In early 2024, the “Family Chronical” was adopted for the first time as the theme that runs through the teaching and creation of artworks. Students were guided to investigate their family histories, to construct and to integrate the connections between the individual, the family history, and the changes in the society, and to display their thinking and artistic practice in the form of paintings, sculptures, installations, photography or texts.
