Scéilín in Paint

A short story brough to you in Paint by Oonagh Latchford,

from Wexford, Ireland @OonaghLatchforadArt

Evening with the artist Scéilín in Paint:  6-8pm, Talk and Screening with refreshment

Oonagh Latchford, visual artist lives and works in Wexford, Ireland.

Latchford’s painting practice is concerned with the effects of high contrasts and over saturation produced by both strong sunlight and by artificial lighting at night.
She is interested in how strong light distorts both shapes and colours, creating new narratives. Figurative elements are a constant within her paintings. Recent work sees her isolating and transporting solitary figures into abstracted or simplifies landscapes, showing snippets of lives - economical in detail, inviting personal and diverse viewer interpretation.

Latchford holds a BA (hons) in art. Her paintings are held in both private and corporate collections both within Ireland and the USA. She is a certified GOLDEN artist educator.

As an appendage to her painting practice she is an experienced workshop facilitator and has been awarded numerous residencies, working within local schools under the auspices of the Living Arts Project.
She was the recipient of Wexford County Council’s Tyrone Guthrie Award in 2014.URL Submit
